What is specialist coffee?
Löfbergs Lila Specialty coffee is a range of the very finest whole beans, prepared and served with the highest possible quality at every stage.
What is the difference between espresso and filter coffee?
The term espresso relates not to the beans used in the coffee, but to the method of preparation. The espresso method involves grinding the coffee more finely and then brewing it in an espresso machine under pressure (9 bar) at 90-93°C. Our espresso range is often a darker roast than our filter coffee beans. When we test blends or roasts, we taste coffee as an espresso. However, many of these work just as well as a filter coffee. Grind the beans a little more coarsely and try for yourself! In the filter coffee segment, our beans all have a story to tell. It may be the origin, location or soil that dictates their unique flavour characteristics. We describe the flavours that we think stand out most clearly! Grind the beans to suit the coffee filter that you use. Brew at 92-96°C and enjoy an extra delicious cup of coffee.
What are Single Region and Single Estate?
A Single Region coffee allows you to access the unique flavour and history of the coffee bean, just like a single varietal wine. The coffee beans all come from the same region. Single Estate is an even more traceable coffee, along the lines of a single malt whisky – a coffee that is guaranteed to come from one farm, giving it a unique character.
